2020s
Media became a Bee City in 2022 and a Bird Town, PA in 2024, and in 2025 the Eagles won the Super Bowl and the Book Sale in support of the Media-Upper Providence Free Library celebrated its 55th Anniversary.
2010s
In 2015, Pope Francis visited Philadelphia and the first-generation Apple Watch was released, and in 2016 the new Media-Upper Providence Free Library building opened at 1 E. Front Street.
2000s
Apple Computer launched iTunes in 2001, the Media Hardware Store closed in 2003, Trader Joe’s opened in the Media Armory in 2004, and Dining Under the Stars started and the Phillies won the World Series in 2008.
1990s
In 1991, the World Wide Web gained massive popularity worldwide and CDs replaced cassette tapes as the dominant way to distribute music. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J. K. Rowling was released in the UK in June of 1997.
1980s
In 1980, the Phillies won their first World Series, and the U.S. Olympic hockey team beat the Soviet Union and went on to win the gold medal. In 1983 the 76ers won the NBA Championship. And in June of 1989, the Book Sale had a new location: 103 W. State Street.
1970s
The very first Media-Upper Providence Free Library Book Sale, hosted by the Media-Upper Providence Library Auxiliary, was held May 9th, 1970 at the Borough Hall.
