Books for Teachers Program

Since 2011, the Books for Teachers Program at the Spring and Fall book sales in support of the Media-Upper Providence Free Library has provided individual teachers in Title I Delaware County School Districts/Schools with $125 worth of voucher money to be spent at the book sale for classroom books and materials.

The Books for Teachers Program is funded by a generous grant from the Renée B. Fisher Foundation. For 15 years the Renée B. Fisher Foundation’s Books for Teachers Program has been active at numerous library book sales. The foundation’s program started with a simple idea: provide books of all types and subjects to children whose access may be limited through their schools in underserved communities. What better place to find a rich resource of books at affordable prices than a library book sale?
